HETI Headlines December 2025
Welcome to the final newsletter of 2025! What a year it has been! We've had fantastic webinars, presented at and attended many brilliant conferences, met with our AMAZING members and made vital connections. We are so looking forward to everything that's to come in 2026!!
At the beginning of the year, HETI published its Strategic Plan for 2024–2027, developed in consultation with members. The plan focuses on improving member connections, strengthening global EAS standards, expanding resources, and creating a more accessible, affordable, and efficient membership experience.
Throughout the year, HETI delivered a strong programme of webinars and meetings, highlighting research, measurement innovations, equine welfare, and sport in EAS. We also launched HETI Live meetings to encourage direct dialogue between members and the Executive Committee.
Several important resources and initiatives were introduced, including updated Journal webpages, National Standards Guidelines, EAS Sector Maps, the HETI Library, and the publication of The HETI Journal: International Research and Practice 2025. Membership structures were reviewed with overwhelmingly positive feedback from members.
HETI strengthened its global networks, relaunching the Asia-Pacific Network, launching the Latin America Network (now with over 200 participants), and establishing an International Participation Task Force creating HETI Ambassadors to improve global access and multilingual engagement.
HETI was represented at numerous international conferences and events across Europe, the Americas, Asia, and beyond, and hosted both in-person and online gatherings, including the first “Meet and Chat” event in Ireland, two HETI(UK) Forums and a meeting of the EEATN in Portugal.
This snapshot reflects a successful and busy year for 2025. We thank our Executive Committee, volunteers, and members for their continued dedication to best practice in EAS and for recognising the essential role of our equine partners.

Happy New Year!!
As we enter 2026, we would like to wish our wonderful members a very happy, peaceful and horse-filled New Year!
As 2026 will be considered the year of the horse, what better excuse do we need to focus on the well being of our equine partners? Let's commit to better practices, further learning and improving the welfare of the amazing equines without whom EAS simply couldn't exist!
Please take some time to watch the greeting from HETI President, Vera Lantelme-Faisan.

This initiative is non-commercial and aims to promote awareness of Equine Assisted Services. However, only books authored by individual HETI members or by organisations that are HETI members will receive additional visibility. This includes promotion on HETI’s social media channels, Newsletter and in the Global Gallop magazine, as well as the option to include a purchase link alongside the book description.
