Federation member
Hest og Helse (Horse and Health) is the national Norwegian membership organization dedicated to promoting the role of horses in health, well-being, and quality of life. Founded in 1971, the organization works at the intersection of equestrian activity and human health, supporting professionals and providers who use horses as a therapeutic and developmental resource.
Services offered
The core mission of Hest og Helse is to advance understanding of how horses can contribute to physical, mental, and social health, and to enhance the quality and competence of horse-assisted activities and therapies across Norway. To achieve this, they offer a range of courses, training programs, and professional networks for practitioners, and maintain standards and qualifications for member organizations.
Specialisation
Hest og Helse also serves as a network and quality hub for over 120 member entities throughout the country, helping to connect providers, share best practices, and support research and advocacy.
