A horse's health and well-being should never depend on personal preferences, passing trends, or individual opinions. That is why, whenever we have a doubt, we should look at the horse - look sincerely into its face - and ask how it is feeling and what it thinks. A horse's face reveals its state and emotions. It is true that we aren't accustomed to listening to them, and we often fail to understand them simply because no one explained the fundamentals of non-verbal communication to us when we first learned to ride... But don't worry - it is never too late to learn.
