As of January 2026, HETI will be implementing a new membership structure and cost system. This is to enable HETI to simplify, clarify, and make membership more inclusive, recognising global income differences.Â
The main changes include:
- Rolling membership year rather than a fixed January – December.
- Auto-renewal of membership – members can choose to opt out of auto renewal, and will be sent renewal notifications prior to their renewal date.
- Simplification of membership categories to Organisation and Individual.Â
- Â Organizations divided into large, medium, small based on annual turnover
(reduced fees for smaller/less economically developed regions). - Individual memberships keep current fees; student & senior categories retained.
- New 3-month free trial for individual members with automatic continuation
unless cancelled. - Federation Membership:
â—‹ For non-profits only; gives a voting seat on HETI International Council.
â—‹ Federation members help shape strategy, select Executive Committee, host
forums, and gain top visibility (ads, social media, Global Gallop).
○ Additional €200 seen as investment in influence and impact.
We are excited to launch this new membership with our new website in January 2026 but will be asking current members to help us test the new system in November 2025.Â

FAQ’s
1. Why did HETI change its membership structure?
To better reflect the diversity of our global community, we’ve updated our membership categories and fees to make them more inclusive, transparent, and fair. The new structure considers both the type and size of an organisation, making HETI membership accessible to a wider range of professionals and institutions.
2. How is the membership fee determined?
Organisational fees are now divided into three levels based on annual turnover. This allows smaller organisations to pay a reduced fee while still receiving almost the same range of benefits. A currency converter will also be available on our website to help members outside the Eurozone convert their annual turnover.
3. What types of membership does HETI offer?
- Federation Membership – for non-profits that wish to, and have the capacity to participate in decision-making and strategic leadership.
- Organisational Membership – for EAS centres, non-profits, institut
ions, businesses and organisations of any size, now divided into three subcategories based on income. - Individual Membership – for practitioners, students, or supporters who wish to engage in the global EAS community. There are concessionary rates for students, older people and hardship.
4. What happened to the Associate Membership category?
The Associate category has been discontinued. Former Associate Members are now either Individual Members or have moved to the new Organisational Membership category, which includes three income-based subcategories to ensure fairness and accessibility.
5. What benefits are included in HETI membership?
All members have access to HETI’s global network, free webinars and recordings, regular newsletters, research sharing, and visibility within the EAS community. Most benefits are equal across all levels, with only a few differences. A detailed benefit comparison is available here.
6. What is the difference between Organisation and Federation Membership?
While all organisational members enjoy core benefits, Federation Members have additional responsibilities and privileges. They nominate a representative to the HETI International Council, vote on HETI bylaws, shape strategic direction, and Congress locations, and enjoy greater visibility and influence within the international EAS field.
