Online CPD Course for EAS Practitioners Working with Traumatized Children or Adults.

We will meet on Zoom for 12 consecutive Wednesdays starting on March 12, 2025 and ending on June 11, 2025 ( excluding April 2 and April 30).

Meeting time: 8:00 pm – 11:00 pm (Israel Standard Time – GMT+2).
Course Overview
This CPD course focuses on the effects of trauma and the symptoms of PTSD on individuals and their families. Participants will learn how to integrate Equine Assisted Services (EAS) strategies to promote healing, personal growth, and resilience in clients dealing with trauma. The course emphasizes mindfulness and teaches participants how to remain present while effectively meeting their clients’ needs.

  • Understanding trauma and its effects on the human body
  • Recognizing PTSD and its impacts
  • Identifying chronic PTSD patterns
  • Understanding the needs of clients
  • Utilizing EAS strategies for client support
  • Designing tailored EAS programs
Entry Requirements
1. Health Professional or Equine Specialist
2. Riding Instructor or Therapeutic Riding Instructor qualifications/EAS Practitioner with accreditation
3. Minimum age: 21
4. Eight practice sessions that take place in a professional riding center with insurance coverage for challenged riders. Candidates must have insurance to work with and ride horses.
Proof of these qualifications and insurance must be submitted before the sessions can begin. Candidates will be responsible for covering any costs associated with these sessions.
Course Structure
Developed by Dr. Anita Shkedi, this course comprises:

Part One: 
Online theory and theory of practice.
Demonstration and practice.
Lesson planning, reflection, and evaluation.
Zoom lecture links will be sent by email.

Part Two: 
Two 1.5-hour group online sessions.
Eight practice sessions with one client.

Evaluation:
Participants will submit eight session plans followed with comprehensive feedback. Participants will provide three 10-minute session video recordings along with a 5,000-word case study, which may be collaborative. This will be included in the provided portfolio/logbook.
Upon successful completion, participants will receive a CPD certificate from the UK and a signed portfolio of their work.
